PROJECT 1 - ICT & Computers
ICT PROGRAM
Purpose:
Provide the students with computer skills so that they do not fall victim to what is today known as the digital divide, whereby some people are excluded from global society due to a lack of equal access to information and communication technology.
Objectives:
- To purchase and install at least 50 computers in a computer laboratory.
- To link the college with a high-speed Internet service Provider (ISP) and install enough Wi-Fi Access Points (APs) at the campus to ensure reliable Internet and easy Internet access.
- To establish a variety of ICT courses such as programming, Web Applications and Networking, and Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence.
Estimated Cost:
- 50 desktop computers, @ $360.00, total $18,000
- 10 access points, @ $121.2, total $ 1,212
- 1 Router, @ $2,221.60, total $2,221.60
- 2 Switches, @ $3,332.40, total $6,664.80
- Internet Subscription, $480 per month, total for 12 months $5,760
Grand Total: $33,858.50
Time Frame:
- The project is set to begin in 2025, and if backed up with necessary funding, it should be completed within six months.
Expected Outcome:
In addition to facilitating CARUMCO’s quest for a university charter, the program will equip students with the ICT skills necessary for a competent and competitive workforce in today's global market.
